Bobby Sherman, famous for being a teenage idol singer and actor in the 1960s, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Sherman's wife, Bridget Pubron, confirmed the news on Fox News Digital.
In a statement Share on Facebookshe wrote about his “dear fan” and said, “As you know, Bobby has retired for a while and is no longer able to take part in cameos, sign autographs, or perform.

“It's a heartfelt feeling that Bobby was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We ask for your kind understanding and respect for our privacy during this challenging time.”
Poubron concluded in a statement, “Thank you for still remembering him. I am truly grateful.”
Sherman began his Hollywood career, starring in episodes of “Honey West” and “Monkees” and earned a breakout role in the 1968 western series “Koko Bride.”

He also began his music career during that time with hit singles such as “Little Woman,” “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “Lalala,” and “Julie, Do YA Love Me.”
Throughout his career, he also appeared in shows such as “Fantasy Island,” “Love Boat,” and “Frasier.”
After appearing on the TV show “Emergency!”, in 1974, Sherman changed his career path and ultimately decided to turn entertainment into a technical reserve police officer at the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to the Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation Facebook PageSherman is also an EMT and was named Officer of the Year in 1999 for LAPD Reserve.
Sherman had previously married Patty Kernell, but he shared two sons. He married Poublon in 2010.
