Bernhard Langer enters the 2025 PGA Tour Champions season fresh off two wins at the end of 2024.
The two-time Masters champion holed out 40 feet on the 18th hole to win his first career at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in November, before suffering an injury last February when he tore his Achilles tendon. It ended a season plagued by this. . He and his son Jason then defeated Tiger and Charlie Woods in a playoff at the PNC Championship in December.
Langer is currently participating in the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai to begin his 19th season on the PGA Tour Champions. He's still able to compete at the highest level, and he revealed why earlier this week.
“I said years ago you have to get three things in place: you need to be healthy, you need to have fun and you probably want to be in the game,” Langer said. , when asked about playing in the PGA Tour Champions. .
“If I have those three things, I don't have to quit. If one or two of them leave me for whatever reason, it's time to think about it.”
Langer added that he “doesn't know” when it will permanently cease operations.
However, he still has a strong desire to win in 2025.
“It would be great to win one or two more times and stay in contention as often as possible,” Langer said of his goals for the season.
“The goal is to stay healthy because when you're healthy, you can work on your game and swing the way you want. If you're not, things become very difficult.”
