The shooting took place in police, in the 1000 block of Sparks Street SW, July 2, 2024, at 12:30am. I said. Officers found three juvenile men with gunshot wounds, police said, pronounced emergency medical services dead at the scene, while the other died in the hospital, and a third was listed in stable condition at the hospital.
Ja'kody Davis and Lamon Freeman were identified as young people who were fatally shot. The fantastic 11-year-old Davis was injured, Waga said.
The three boys gathered to celebrate Freeman's birthday during the shooting, the station said.
“The overall theme in this case is the grown man playing the gang,” Atlanta police murder commander Ralph Woolfolk said according to Wagga. “Ramon Freeman was allowed to turn 13 for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life.”
Police said the Atlanta-based rapper retaliated for entering the territory of a rival gang and filming a music video. The station added that authorities said high ranked members of the Goodfellas gang actually coordinated the attack behind the bar at Hayes State Jail.
Following instructions, the suspect fired fire at the apartment where the boys were shot, Waga said. The young victim had no connection to the gangs involved in the grass conflict, police added to the station.
Atlanta Police Chief Darling Siebaum said the man arrested Wednesday was a “dangerous individual” and “if he remains free on the streets of Atlanta… he would use his gun again to do harm.”
Police know the identity of the rapper in question, but did not reveal the names of the press conference or other gangs involved in the conflict, Station said. Police called the rapper's behavior “co-disease,” Waga said.
