On Tuesday, in Phoenix, Arizona, a significant number of college students recommitted their lives to Christ during a service held at Grand Canyon University. Speakers like Jonathan Pokulda and Forrest Frank urged attendees to set aside worldly distractions and completely surrender to God.
This gathering is part of the Unite US movement, which has reached over 15 college campuses in the last two years. Leaders claim this demonstrates a rising spiritual awareness among younger generations.
The event attracted about 7,000 students to the Global Credit Union Arena on campus, resulting in 4,300 individuals rededicating their lives to Christ, while 251 were baptized in a mobile pool set up outside.
Frank, popular among young Christians, inspired the crowd to fully devote themselves to God, saying, “You can have it all.” He reflected on his personal journey, recalling how he yielded his reputation and plans to God, emphasizing complete faith in Jesus.
Tonya Prewett, founder of Unite US, called on students to live with a sense of eternal purpose, encouraging them not to waste their lives but to give everything to Jesus.
Although Grand Canyon University is a private Christian institution, it welcomes non-Christian students as well.
This wasn’t the only Unite US event this fall; in just September, similar gatherings attracted 8,000 students at the University of Tennessee, 7,000 at the University of South Florida, and 9,000 at the University of Oklahoma.
The first Unite US event took place at Auburn University in 2023.
The Grand Canyon University rally was described by Unite US’s official Instagram account as a “move of God,” citing changes in lives and hearts and a powerful encounter with Jesus. They suggested that this was just a preview of a broader revival.
Prewett expressed her belief that what is occurring on these campuses is part of a larger divine movement among Gen Z, noting that students are seeking truth and hope, realizing that these can only be found in Jesus Christ.
