Tragic Incident Involving TikTok Influencer

A 911 dispatcher reported hearing “female screams and cries” just before Sarah Gilson, a TikTok influencer, allegedly killed her husband after accusing him of being a suspected pedophile online.

Sarah Gilson, known as Sarah Duffy in real life, had publicly labeled her husband, Jeremiah Sean Duffy, a pedophile in posts weeks prior. On July 23, police arrived at a domestic violence scene in Owasso, Oklahoma, where both were found dead. The investigation is currently being treated as a murder-suicide.

According to audio recordings obtained, the dispatcher noted the distressing sounds during the call for help, stating, “While we were trying to make contact, we heard a woman screaming and crying in the background.” There were also loud noises reported during the call, and the dispatcher confirmed authorities had knowledge of the serious allegations against Duffy.

During discussions, the dispatcher reportedly referred to Jeremiah Sean Duffy, connecting him to prior allegations when they said, “This is the man we were looking for after he was caught kissing a boy a few weeks ago.”

Reports indicate that a child in the home called 911 to report that his stepfather had shot his mother.

Background on Allegations

On July 11, just days before her death, Sarah Duffy had made a TikTok post suggesting that a Netflix documentary about her estranged husband was in the works after learning of his alleged actions. Her ex-husband, Lyle Landers, revealed he had urged her for years to leave Jeremiah because of concerns regarding her safety. He mentioned that Sarah had been in a toxic relationship where domestic violence was normalized.

Landers stated, “I had been begging her for five years to leave him… He seemed to have some kind of control over her.” He described her as a dedicated mother who ultimately died in the effort to protect her children.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, on June 9, the police had received allegations from a father and son against Jeremiah Sean Duffy for inappropriate behavior with a girl during a school event. Previous charges against him included lewd conduct involving a minor, which had been escalated to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Following these incidents, Sarah Duffy sought an emergency protection order against him.

Another alarming report surfaced, revealing that a mother filed a protection order against Duffy after witnessing him inappropriately interacting with her 15-year-old daughter, who was part of the boys’ basketball team he coached. There were claims that Duffy had given the girl money to remain silent.
