Nashville Pedestrian Incident Involving Connor Smith
A 77-year-old woman, reportedly struck by country singer Connor Smith in Nashville earlier this month, has prompted new 911 calls revealing her potential awareness during the incident.
On July 8, a caller informed the emergency services about an elderly woman sitting on the street after being hit by a black truck while crossing on Third Avenue. The audio of the call has been released.
“Someone was hit by a truck. The couple seems to be in a condition where they’re sitting right in front of the truck,” the female caller, whose identity remains unknown, stated.
Before emergency personnel arrived, at least three other callers had alerted 911, but initial details suggested the situation might not have been too severe.
One caller mentioned a victim along with “many people and several nurses,” later identified as Dorothy Dobbins, noting she remained in place until help arrived.
It’s uncertain if Dobbins was positioned there independently or if bystanders were assisting her, but the 77-year-old succumbed to her injuries later at a hospital.
Authorities report that Smith, 24, known for his 2022 hit “I Hate Alabama,” stayed at the scene following the collision.
Police indicated that Smith did not appear to be impaired or distracted by a phone when the accident occurred.
No legal claims have been initiated regarding the incident.
“On June 8, Smith was involved in a tragic accident. He is extending his thoughts to Dobbins’ family during this tough time and is cooperating fully with investigators,” stated his attorney, Warwick G. Robinson.
As a result of the incident, the “Orange and White” singer was withdrawn from two scheduled festival performances.
On the day of the tragic event, Smith shared Instagram posts, including a photo of himself on stage wearing a “Nashville” T-shirt, captioned, “Hometown is different ❤❤️.”
