Trump criticizes former supporters for their obsession with Epstein

President Trump expressed concern on Wednesday, attempting to distance himself from supporters seeking more information about documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, a controversial figure.

In a lengthy social media post, Trump characterized the turmoil surrounding the Epstein Files as a “fraud” orchestrated by Democrats. He noted that he no longer endorses supporters who desire greater transparency regarding the documents.

“Their new strategy is what we’re calling the Jeffrey Epstein hoax forever. My former supporters fell for this nonsense, hook, line, and sinker,” Trump stated. He went on to imply that these individuals haven’t grasped the lessons from past events and are unlikely to do so in the future, especially after being influenced by those who have long been erratic.

“I’ve likely accomplished more in six months than any president in history.” He criticized those who engage with “fake news” fueled by Democrats desperate for success. “Let these vulnerable individuals keep moving ahead and do the Democrats’ work. Don’t even think about discussing our remarkable achievements,” he added.

Several notable Trump supporters, including various Congressional members, are pushing for the administration to disclose more details about the Epstein Files. Activist Laura Rumer and Representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) are among the persistent allies requesting special advisors to investigate this matter.

Supporters within Trump’s administration have long propagated conspiracy theories regarding Epstein’s death, alleging a government cover-up for nefarious reasons. Yet, Trump has recently seemed frustrated with the ongoing focus on Epstein.

“I don’t get it, why are they so curious?” Trump remarked on Tuesday. “He’s been dead for quite a while and wasn’t really a significant player. I don’t see the fascination. Honestly, I’ve been given credible information.”

Last week, the Justice Department and the FBI released a joint memo declaring that Epstein had no client list and reaffirmed that he died by suicide in a New York City prison in 2019. These findings have sparked discontent among members of the MAGA movement, who contend that prominent Democrats have ties to Epstein’s client list.

Epstein faced multiple allegations of trafficking young girls and associated with influential figures, including Trump, former President Clinton, British Prince Andrew, and various celebrities. His confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted of sex trafficking.
