The situation Caitlin Clark is facing on the court has spilled into her family life, as her younger brother Colin took to social media after her latest game.
Clark and the Fever secured a victory against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, with a final score of 85-77. Yet, the game was marred by two significant incidents from an Indian perspective.
First off, Clark seemed to be grappling with her ongoing groin injuries that have plagued her since preseason.
Having already missed at least five games this season due to these injuries, there’s a concern she might be sidelined even longer.
There were other troubling incidents, which seem more directly related to Colin Clark’s recent comments.
In a follow-up post, Colin Clark expressed, “This is obviously an issue with the officiating.”
Caitlin Clark appeared to have a typical exchange with Kaki until a comment was made that irked her, leading to her emotional outburst. She reportedly screamed, “You’re teasing me.”
Complaints about officiating are common. Caitlin Clark is a prominent figure in the league, yet it seems the referees are missing the call on her fouls.
The New York Post noted a previous match against the Dallas Wings where a critical foul that could have benefited Clark was overlooked.
“I have a strong opinion on this,” said Rebeccarobo, a color analyst. “There was a hold. Another grab. It’s clear…” Ryan Aruko, a play-by-play announcer, chimed in, emphasizing, “These are all fouls.”
The referees appeared detached from the situation. Just on Tuesday night, another Fever player, Sophie Cunningham, was elbowed, yet the referee failed to call the foul.
As for the severity of Caitlin’s injuries, there hasn’t been a clear update yet.
“We noticed some discomfort in her groin, so we will evaluate and see how things unfold,” Fever coach Stephanie White told the media.
