Emma’s husband suggested she adopt a “carefree approach” to parenting, which left her with two choices: disregard his advice or follow it.
“I’m just doing it and spending my day,” she shared in a recent video on Tiktok.
“Raising children has brought many changes.”
On the app, Emma detailed how she managed her day with her two daughters and referenced her husband’s relaxed parenting style.
“Most moms have adjusted their lives significantly and taken on the primary caregiver role, while dads often stick to a simpler, more laid-back way of parenting,” Emma noted.
“I think the dynamics of parenting have shifted a lot compared to the past when mothers bore most of the responsibility.”
Emma aimed to demonstrate the importance of balance in co-parenting.
In a somewhat ironic twist, she decided to say “yes” to what she usually declined:
- More screen time.
- Staying in bed past 10 AM.
- A not-so-healthy bowl of noodles for lunch.
She even lightened her usual standards a bit, opting not to clean or limit her watching habits of sports and Instagram videos, all while playfully noting that “budget doesn’t apply to me” today.
This approach clearly resonated.
“I think many moms feel the same way but don’t express it,” Emma remarked.
“Based on the shares and comments on my video, it seems like a lot of moms related to it and discussed it with their partners.”
“I probably ruined their day.”
The reactions surprised Emma.
“I didn’t expect so many serious responses, but I was even more taken aback by how many people reached out to support me,” she said.
However, she was especially curious about how dads felt watching it.
“I can definitely say I probably ruined their day,” she joked.
As for her husband, his response was quite typical.
After a quick eye-roll, he chuckled and said she was funny, keeping an eye on the feedback since he was the star of the video.
And it seems the internet agrees; many commenters are already eagerly awaiting a follow-up.
It looks like Emma has only begun to explore her carefree husband’s approach to parenting.
