Paige Bueckers has passed the test, and the connection between the WNBA and UConn has been made clear.
During the WNBA All-Star Weekend event on Thursday, Bueckers, the anticipated top pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, faced questions regarding her former teammate and longtime girlfriend, Azzi Fudd.
When asked, “How well do you know your D1 girlfriend?” Bueckers couldn’t help but smile.
She answered a series of questions accurately, including details about where Fudd attended high school, her Gatorade Player of the Year accolade, her ranking in the class of 202, and her college start date.
She also responded to inquiries about what sport Fudd’s father played, who inspired her basketball name, and the honors she received based on her national championship performance.
When the subject turned to Fudd’s phone case, which had been shown in a viral Instagram post revealing it as “Paige Bueckers’ Girlfriend,” Bueckers confirmed that her girlfriend was indeed Azzi Fudd.
Both players have been the subject of relationship speculation since winning the national championship in April, and the confirmation brought joy to many fans.
Before this event, Bueckers hinted about their relationship. After the ESPY Awards on Wednesday, she shared a photo of Fudd on the red carpet alongside emojis that conveyed her admiration.
She also discussed other moments, such as who she would trust to take a crucial last-second shot, replying, “I’m choosing Azzi Fudd.”
Fudd opted to continue her education at UConn as a graduate student, foregoing her opportunity in the WNBA draft despite being anticipated as a first-round selection. During her last season, she averaged 13.6 points per game and excelled with a 43.6 shooting percentage from beyond the arc.
