Caitlin Clark's kiss with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery becomes widely shared

Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Conor McCaffery, made a brief appearance during the WNBA All-Star weekend where he attempted to kiss her on camera, but it didn’t quite go as planned. A video that surfaced on Friday night shows Clark approaching McCaffery at Gainbridge Field House, and as he leaned in for a kiss, she turned her head. He ended up planting a light kiss next to her hair before stepping back.

The video elicited a mix of reactions online—some fans were skeptical, while others found it amusing. McCaffery works as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Butler University in Indiana. Previously, he garnered attention on social media when a broadcast showcased Clark in the stands. The broadcast introduced her as “Caitlin Clark 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year,” while later McCaffery was identified as “Connor McCaffery, Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend.”

Interestingly, during the broadcast, a name card for McCaffery’s younger brother, Patrick—a current player on Butler’s team—added a humorous twist by referring to him as “brother of Patrick McCaffery, Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend.” Both Clark and Connor have basketball backgrounds; Connor played at the University of Iowa, where he had a solid career despite battling injuries. He appeared in 166 games, averaging 4.5 points and 3.0 rebounds, with a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. The couple began dating in April 2023, after Clark led Iowa to the NCAA title game.

Connor recently started his coaching career with the Indiana Pacers, just as Clark joined the Indiana Fever, following their unfortunate performance last season that positioned them for a high draft pick. Now, they find themselves in Indianapolis, as Butler’s campus is located just a short distance from Fever’s arena.

Last August, they attended a Yankees game together in New York City, where Clark had the opportunity to tour the clubhouse and snap photos with players like Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo. Clark recently shared a birthday post on Instagram for McCaffery, expressing her gratitude and excitement for their future together.
