Car Plows Into Crowd Outside Los Angeles Nightclub, Leaving 30 Injured

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a vehicle crashed into a crowd gathered outside a nightclub in Los Angeles, injuring at least 30 individuals, authorities reported.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers arrived around 2 a.m. local time to find that a car had driven into the throng for reasons that are still being investigated. They noted that 23 people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) indicated that seven people were in critical condition, while another seven refused to be taken to the hospital after evaluation. In total, 124 firefighters were deployed to manage the situation.

When officers reached the scene, they observed that the driver was being attacked by a bystander. The driver was subsequently shot and taken to a local hospital, but details about their condition remain unclear. The shooter reportedly fled the scene on foot.

LAFD Captain Adam Vangerpen described the chaos in an interview, noting that drivers were spotted navigating onto the sidewalk. He mentioned that the food vendors outside were providing tacos, a detail that adds a bizarre twist to the incident. “The driver went through these taco stalls and into the crowd,” he elaborated.

Witnesses stated that a significant number of women were among those waiting in line outside the Vermont Hollywood nightclub, which had been hosting a reggae and hip-hop event that night. People who were inside the venue rushed out to assist those who had been struck before emergency responders arrived.

The exact cause of the incident hasn’t been determined yet, leaving many questions unanswered about the circumstances leading to this troubling event.
