House Republicans Release Testimony on Hunter Biden’s Prosecutors

Washington – On Monday, House Republicans unveiled years of testimony from former Delaware Attorney David Weiss, indicating that prosecutors believed there wasn’t sufficient evidence to prove that Hunter Biden, the former president’s son, acted as a foreign agent.

Weiss, who has pursued a tax and gun-related case against Hunter, acknowledged during an interview with the House Judiciary Committee on June 6 that he “personally” contemplated filing charges under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) but ultimately decided against it when his team couldn’t substantiate the claims.

“We had not had enough evidence to prove that Hunter Biden acted as an agent for a foreign principal,” Weiss stated, referring to his remarks in the released transcript.

He added, “I personally think I see that I have considered FARA’s accusations. Compared to foreign principals, there was some credibility in whether agents were acting on behalf of foreign governments.”

Weiss expressed a nuanced view, acknowledging that while the law covers various activities, there is a distinction to be made in this case.

In a House Republican investigation, it was mentioned that Hunter Biden leveraged his father’s name to secure business deals with clients from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has consistently denied having any involvement with his son’s business associates, despite conflicting emails and testimonies. He maintains that Hunter did not “do anything wrong” while working abroad.
