Republicans Outpace Democrats in June Fundraising

In June, Republican fundraising nearly doubled that of Democrats. This discrepancy comes as Democrats are grappling with potential losses in 2024 and internal divisions, as outlined by reports from Hill and Fox News Digital.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) raised approximately $16.2 million, significantly higher than the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) $8.6 million during the same month. Currently, the RNC boasts a fundraising total of $80.78 million, while the DNC stands at $15.22 million.

Part of this disparity is attributed to turmoil within the Democratic Party. For instance, former vice-chairman David Hogg, a progressive activist, decided against seeking reelection shortly after his promotion. His actions reportedly created a significant rift among major party incumbents.

A year after President Biden’s unexpected withdrawal from the 2024 race, Democratic support appears to be dwindling.

During this time of turbulence, DNC vice-chairman Malcolm Kenyatta expressed frustration, stating that the situation felt like a “slap in the face.” He mentioned a lack of focus within the party, emphasizing that discussions about procedural issues within the DNC are not what people want to hear about.

This period follows Vice President Kamala Harris’s extravagant spending—around $1.5 billion—on campaign activities leading up to her defeat against President Trump.

Despite these challenges, Democratic leaders have maintained a hopeful outlook. They noted that June saw the highest grassroots donations in the committee’s history, with more than $50 million raised since January.

DNC Chairman Ken Martin stated that there is a renewed spirit among supporters, ready to rally and push back against the Republicans. He highlighted the record number of volunteers and funds raised, reinforcing a message that Democrats are reinvigorating their efforts to counter the Republican agenda.

Meanwhile, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has also outperformed its Democratic counterparts, raising $32.3 million compared to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s $29.1 million in the second quarter. The NRCC has surpassed the DCCC for the first time in four years in the first half of this election cycle.

Between swing districts, Republican candidates have shown stronger fundraising success, bringing in over $848,000 compared to the lower earnings of vulnerable House Democrats.

NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella commented on the committee’s financial growth, labeling it a “historic” war chest. He emphasized the perceived unity and strength of House Republicans compared to what he described as a fractured Democratic Party.

As these fundraising battles unfold, Fox News Digital reached out to the RNC, DNC, and DCCC for comments but has yet to receive responses.
