Michael Rapaport’s Passionate Plea to New Yorkers
Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport has urged his fellow New Yorkers not to abandon the city if socialist candidate Zoran Mamdani wins the upcoming mayoral election. In a recent video shared on X, he expressed his commitment to staying and fighting for the city he loves.
Referring to Mamdani as “Zolon the Baka,” Rapaport criticized the Muslim candidate in unclear terms. He implored New Yorkers to remain in their beloved city, stating, “If Zoron the Baka wins the election, don’t go anywhere.” His tone was emphatic, revealing his frustration about Mamdani’s stance.
Rapaport continued, “Don’t let this terrorist advocate, socialist, bullsh*t artist drive you out of your city!” He claimed that Mamdani is not even a true New Yorker and insisted that people should stay put.
He candidly shared his personal feelings, saying, “I’m not going anywhere. Does that hurt me? Yes. Are you embarrassed as a New Yorker for New York? Yes.” Despite the challenges, he mentioned considering alternative financial arrangements but vowed to resist leaving.
Although he acknowledged the responsibility to hold themselves accountable if Mamdani wins, he stressed the importance of rallying together to improve the city. “We need to dust ourselves off and make New York great again,” he insisted, recognizing the further work ahead.
Rapaport expressed his disbelief at the current political situation, revealing that he is genuinely shocked. “And do I just like it?” he added, seemingly puzzled by the developing circumstances.
Currently, the competition for mayor includes prominent figures such as former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Republican Curtis Swawa, and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, who is running as an independent. Rapaport suggested that both Cuomo and Swawa ought to unite behind Adams.
His forecast for the election was blunt, indicating that if Mamdani succeeds, Cuomo and Swawa may just have to bow out. “But whether he wins or not,” Rapaport concluded passionately, “you’re not driving me out of the city I was born in!”
