Sen. Dave McCormick Aims for Pennsylvania to Be at the Forefront of Future Energy Solutions

Pennsylvania’s Role in Future US Energy

Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) has expressed that Pennsylvania is set to play a pivotal role in the advancement of energy innovation in the U.S. He recounted his conversation with former President Trump shortly after winning the election, mentioning that Trump was eager to assist him. McCormick highlighted an event in February, where Trump attended a national championship wrestling match.

“This is your opportunity,” McCormick noted, emphasizing the state’s position as a crossroads for energy and AI innovation following recent developments. He elaborated on Pennsylvania’s diverse energy resources, saying, “We have nuclear power. We have coal. We have oil. We have massive natural gas reserves. AI requires a huge amount of energy.”

Furthermore, he pointed out the presence of a skilled workforce, including electricians and pipe fitters, crucial for building large data centers required for AI technologies. McCormick also praised Pennsylvania’s universities, indicating that they are fundamental in achieving these ambitions.

During a recent summit, he stated he met three key goals, including inviting the governor as a guest. He announced significant news about a $92 billion investment from various companies in Pennsylvania, focusing on data centers and energy infrastructure, which he described as remarkable, especially with 150 media representatives in attendance.

“I emphasized that this will significantly benefit those who supported us—especially the families of workers in Pennsylvania—as we promise to create new opportunities,” he mentioned.
