Dan Evans and Corentin Moutet betting odds and forecast

If there’s one tennis match outside of the grand slams that fans should catch this year, it’s probably the Thursday clash between Dan Evans and Colentin Moutet at ATP Washington.

This matchup really embodies the spirit of tennis, holding attention from the first serve until the season wraps up in November.

Neither player has cracked the top 20, and both have never reached beyond the fourth round in a Grand Slam. Interestingly, they’re both around six feet tall.

They share more than just physical traits. Both Evans and Moutet are recognized for their talents—plus, well, their occasional temper tantrums.

Moutet is especially famous for his volatile demeanor on the court, yet Evans is not one to shy away from showing some emotion himself.

ATP Washington: Moutet vs. Evans Odds and Forecast

Aside from their fiery personalities, both players are effective shot-makers. Since they’re not particularly powerful, they rely on creativity and precision, often creating some excitement when they’re both in play.

After having a rough patch in the Challenger Circuit and ATP, Moutet made a strong comeback in 2025, even managing to upset a couple of top 10 players, including Taylor Fritz and Holger Rune, over a three-month period.

His victory over Fritz marked a peak in his career during an impressive 8-3 run. Unfortunately, he faced a setback when YB Wu halted his progress during ATP Washington qualifying. Thankfully, he re-entered the main draw as a lucky loser, dominating Alexandre Muller 6-0, 6-1 in the first round.

Evans, a previous tournament winner, had a mixed season but still found success against Zizou Bergs and Alex Michelsen on the hard courts of D.C.

While Moutet is younger and currently holds a higher ranking, Evans isn’t done yet and seems to thrive under the conditions of this tournament.

I’m curious why the odds seem to favor one player so much in a matchup between such similar opponents. It really could go multiple ways, which is great for anyone supporting the underdogs.
