'Happy Gilmore 2': Adam Sandler promotes Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce to Appear in “Happy Gilmore 2”

Actor Adam Sandler has given a nod to Travis Kelce, star of the Kansas City Chiefs, as he prepares to feature in Netflix’s upcoming film “Happy Gilmore 2,” which debuts later this week.

Kelce joins other notable athletes in this sequel, including Reggie Bush, Bovan Marjanovic, Nikki Garcia, Becky Lynch, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The film will also showcase several professional golfers such as Colin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, John Daly, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau.

Sandler has previously appeared on a podcast with the Kelce brothers, where he remarked on Kelce’s charisma. “He was so cool. Like, you and Jason, you just take charge. Anyway, Travis was just there, having to play a bit of a tough guy role,” Sandler said.

Kelce mentioned he got some guidance on how to approach his character. “It was the perfect treatment. It was a lot of fun,” he shared, noting how Sandler helped him navigate the roles on set. He also mentioned Bad Bunny, saying he’s naturally funny, which audiences will see in the film.

Sandler did note that Kelce had to adopt a somewhat antagonistic demeanor for his role but that he executed it well.

Outside of football, Kelce has his hands in various activities, including hosting “Saturday Night Live” and participating in a game show titled “Are You Smarter than a Celebrity?”
