Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71

TMZ Sports has reported that Hulk Hogan, a legendary figure in professional wrestling, has died in Florida at the age of 71.

Hogan, who significantly changed the wrestling landscape and sparked interest in the sport that became known as “Furukamania” during the 1980s, was notably present at the Republican National Convention in July 2024, where he supported presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“As a celebrity, I’m attempting to distance myself from politics,” Hogan stated. “However, the events of the past four years, especially what occurred last weekend, have compelled me to speak out.”

He rallied his supporters, declaring, “Trump fanatics, it’s time to take charge again! Let Trump mania restore greatness to America!”

In his political journey, Hogan had shown support for both former President Barack Obama and Republican Senator Mitt Romney during their campaigns. Still, he expressed uncertainty about his choice for the 2024 election, although he made it clear who he was rooting for after an attempted assassination on Trump in Pennsylvania that same month.

“When I saw him rise up, fist in the air, the blood on his face—like a warrior— I understood that America needed him,” Hogan reflected in a July 2024 interview.

During the RNC, his praises for Trump echoed that same sentiment. Hogan, known for his time in the wrestling ring with formidable opponents, remarked, “I’ve faced some of the toughest guys, but Donald Trump, my brother, he’s the toughest of them all.”

Hogan’s Support for Trump

Details about Hogan’s death are still emerging. Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Harrison Fields shared a heartfelt message on social media: “Brothers, rest.”

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) expressed its condolences, recognizing Hogan as not just a wrestling icon, but a central figure in pop culture. They shared their sadness over his passing, honoring his role in elevating WWE’s global prominence in the 1980s.

“We’re saddened to learn that Hulk Hogan, a WWE Hall of Famer, has passed away,” WWE stated on social media, sending thoughts to his family, friends, and fans.
