Hulk Hogan passed away shortly after emergency responders arrived at his Florida residence due to serious health problems, as police confirmed on Thursday.
The 71-year-old wrestler was attended to at his Clearwater home before being transported to a local hospital, but he died around 11:17 a.m., according to police statements.
Emergency medical personnel were dispatched shortly before 10 a.m., and initial treatment took place at his home. Hogan was later moved to Clearwater Hospital for further care.
“At that time, personnel were providing treatment,” said Nate Burnside from the Clearwater Police Station during a brief press conference.
The specific cause of death hasn’t been released yet, although authorities have noted that there were no indications of foul play. TMZ reported that a 911 call from Hogan’s residence suggested a possible cardiac arrest.
In the wake of his death, tributes have flowed in, acknowledging his significant contributions to wrestling and pop culture. He was known, among other things, for his vocal support for President Trump in recent years.
