Duck Dynasty: Revival Reflects Family’s Faith
Willie Robertson, known from the A&E series Duck Dynasty: Revival, emphasizes that faith is a core part of his family’s identity and plays a significant role in their undertakings. He serves as the CEO of both Real World Business Duck Commander and Central Person, alongside his wife, Corey. The reboot of the series, which premieres in June, is set to air Sundays at 9 p.m. on A&E. It brings back familiar faces like Si Robertson and Sadie Robertson Huff, while also introducing new characters.
Each episode of Duck Dynasty: Revival continues a tradition from the original series, ending with the family saying grace before meals.
“Our family DNA is centered around faith,” Willie shared with Crosswalk. “It all flows from that.”
However, he clarified that the show isn’t strictly about preaching.
“You can see it expressed through family love, kindness, and forgiveness,” he explained. “If you’re interested in learning more about our faith, there are podcasts and books that go deeper.”
The family prayers at the conclusion of each episode emerged from a simple idea. Willie reminisced that during the pilot, their plan for a family dinner naturally led to a moment of prayer, which, at the time, didn’t seem to carry much significance.
“We had a family dinner in the pilot and prayed before it,” he recalled. “Honestly, we didn’t consider the impact until people started reacting.”
This prayer moment transformed into a cherished ritual for viewers, many of whom wrote to the Robertsons about how it inspired them to adopt similar practices at their own tables.
“God took that simple gesture and used it in a profound way,” Willie added.
Willie also highlighted how central faith was to his parents, Phil and Kay Robertson. While Phil passed away in May, Kay remains active in the family’s life in their small Louisiana community. The influence of faith in their lives has been significant—Willie noted that perhaps without it, he and Colly might never have crossed paths.
“Without faith, our lives would look completely different,” he stated.
He affirmed that faith would always be a crucial element in both the original Duck Dynasty and its revival.
“It would be impossible to depict our lives—original or revival—without recognizing where faith fits in,” he concluded.
The family is also preparing for the season finale, airing on August 3rd, which promises to reveal the gender of Sadie’s new baby.
“I’m so proud of Sadie,” Corey said, laughing.
