JVN Hair Launches at Ulta Beauty

Ulta Beauty, one of the largest cosmetics retailers in the U.S., has partnered with Netflix’s Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness to introduce his JVN haircare line in their stores.

“JVN’s hair is officially in Ulta now! I can’t believe I’m seeing the display for the first time, everyone!” Van Ness exclaimed while strutting into Ulta, clad in a dress and high heels, clicking his heels on the tiled floor.

“Let’s see what JVN hair looks like in Ulta for the very first time!” he added, clearly excited.

As Van Ness engaged with Ulta employees, he asked, “Do you think it’s beautiful?” and inquired whether his products would mesh well with Ulta’s other offerings. One employee responded with an enthusiastic, “It’s gorgeous!”

Van Ness wrapped up his video, announcing that “JVN’s hair is now available in Ulta Beauty nationwide.”

Back in 2022, Ulta faced backlash from women online due to an interview featuring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Van Ness, who also styles Mulvaney’s hair, has identified as non-binary and embraces a fluid approach to gender.

In a different light, a recent report from Rolling Stone portrayed Van Ness in a less favorable way. Colleagues described his behavior during the filming of Queer Eye as “abusive” and “despicable,” noting that, while he’s generally warm and engaging, he often found it necessary to raise his voice at least once a day.

According to one source, “He doesn’t like to share the spotlight with anyone” and sometimes struggles to film scenes with fellow cast members. Another individual echoed this sentiment, stating that working with him can be quite difficult, especially when he’s not in the best mood.
