Bryce Ford-Wheaton of the Giants has a season-ending Achilles injury.

Not again.

That might have been the sentiment shared by many in the Giants organization on Sunday when it was confirmed that their talented wide receiver and special teams player, Bryce Ford-Wheaton, had suffered a season-ending torn Achilles.

The 25-year-old collapsed during a play, seemingly without any contact, and after getting up, he took a few steps, spiked his helmet in frustration, and then fell again.

In a moment of distress, a teammate rushed over and knelt beside Ford-Wheaton as he was secured onto a medical cart and taken off the field.

“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t devastated!” Ford-Wheaton shared on X, adding, “I promise I won’t give up. It’s a tough road ahead, but I believe this is part of a bigger plan, even if it’s hard to see right now. Thanks for your prayers.”

This marks the second preseason where Ford-Wheaton has faced a significant injury. In 2023, as an undrafted rookie, he tore his ACL just before roster cuts and managed to return to play 14 games the following season.

In response to the situation, the Giants brought in linebacker Chris Board during the offseason, who can fill similar special teams roles. Additionally, they have undrafted rookie receiver Darren Cambre, who, despite being a long shot to make the final roster, has demonstrated impressive special teams skills in college.
