Lionel Messi and his wife share a special moment during a Coldplay concert

At a recent Coldplay concert, Lionel Messi and his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, enjoyed a drama-free evening, especially following Messi’s recent suspension from MLS.

The Inter Miami captain had been sidelined for a match against FC Cincinnati due to his absence at the All-Star Game in Austin, Texas. During the concert, Roccuzzo shared moments with their three kids from a private suite at Hard Rock Stadium, which they highlighted on Instagram.

Messi, 38, and Roccuzzo, 37, were warmly welcomed by the Miami audience and captured on Coldplay’s popular “kiss-cam,” where they shared a lighthearted moment.

This concert experience contrasted significantly with a recent “kiss-cam” incident involving Coldplay at Gillette Stadium, which drew considerable attention.

In a related aside, it’s noted that Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, made comments regarding some fellow band members’ reactions to the previous “kiss-cam” episode. It appears the situation caused a bit of public fallout for them.

Meanwhile, Pete DeJoy, the co-founder and Chief Product Officer, is stepping in as interim CEO amid some restructuring within the organization, while they enlisted Gwyneth Paltrow—Martin’s ex-wife—for a commercial aiming to manage public relations.

Throughout the concert, Messi maintained a low profile, seemingly enjoying a night of music and family. Photos captured Messi smiling alongside sons Thiago, Mateo, and Shiro.

After performing, Martin acknowledged Messi, calling him the “greatest sportsperson of all time,” which prompted the crowd to chant his name: “Messi! Messi!”

However, the atmosphere was not entirely celebratory for everyone; former Miami co-owner Jorge Mas expressed displeasure regarding Messi’s suspension for the All-Star game.

Messi, along with teammate Jordi Alba, missed a performance in their home game against FC Cincinnati. The club clarified that the decision for their absence was based on a collective health concern, not solely on Messi’s choice.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber remarked that the league is carefully reviewing its policies and is committed to collaborating with players to adapt the rules moving forward.

Looking ahead, Messi’s contract with Inter Miami is set to conclude after the 2025 season.
