HOUSTON, Texas
Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have announced that over 200 foreign child sex offenders have been arrested in the Houston area in the last six months of the Trump administration. This number exceeds arrests made in the entire previous fiscal year.
One official mentioned, “By leveraging resources and expertise from the entire federal law enforcement community, we’re addressing the significant increase in illegal immigration seen in recent years. We’ve arrested a historic number of violent criminals and gang members, including child sex offenders.” They acknowledged that there’s still much work to be done to manage this crisis but highlighted the advancements made in enhancing community safety.
Since President Trump assumed office, the number of illegal aliens arrested in Houston has reached 214, compared to 211 in the prior fiscal year.
On his first day in office, Trump initiated a comprehensive strategy aimed at apprehending criminal aliens released during the Biden administration’s border crisis. This multi-agency approach has enabled officers to conduct daily immigration enforcement operations focused on capturing the most serious offenders.
Some notable arrests include:
- Jesus Gutierrez Millerez, 67, a deported offender arrested on March 28 for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was removed to Mexico on April 4.
- Jorge Zebra, 48, also from Mexico, arrested on March 21 for two counts of aggravated sexual assault against a minor. He was removed to Mexico on March 24.
- Manuel Antonio Castrojuarez, 37, previously deported, arrested on July 18 for sexual assault of a minor. He is currently in ICE custody awaiting a third deportation.
- Jose Guadalupe Meza, 40, a four-time deportee from Mexico arrested June 24 for child theft and sexual assault. He was removed to Mexico on June 25.
- Sergio Rolando Galvan Guerrero, 45, a three-time deportee, arrested July 12 for DWI and aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was deported to Mexico on July 14.
In a recent report, it was noted that a Houston area ICE officer arrested 1,361 criminal aliens in June, which included 32 child predators and a variety of other serious offenders.
Shortly thereafter, ICE officials announced a new Homeland Security Task Force aimed at combatting organized crime in the Houston area. They emphasized the necessity for law enforcement to collaborate as criminal organizations continue to evolve and present new threats.
Last month’s arrests in Houston also included members of cartels and gangs, with groups such as Tren de Aragua, MS-13, and Cartel Jalisco New Generation designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the U.S. State Department.
