Trump Is Achieving About One Peace Agreement or Ceasefire Each Month

President Donald Trump has, on average, facilitated one settlement or ceasefire each month throughout his presidency, including a recent agreement between Thailand and Cambodia.

As Trump marks the six-month milestone of his second term, he highlighted the outcomes of his diplomatic agenda during a meeting with British Prime Minister Kiel Kiel in Scotland, emphasizing a strength-based approach.

The announcement of the latest agreement indicated that Trump urged both countries to come to the negotiation table on Saturday. He made it clear that he would refrain from making any trade deals with either nation if the conflict persisted, especially with tariffs set to kick in on Friday.

Last week saw a surge in tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, with both sides accusing each other of border violations. These countries have struggled with border disputes for nearly 120 years, stemming from historic maps that posed challenges during Cambodia’s time as a French colony. The recent skirmishes displaced over 150,000 individuals.

“Now, this makes six conflicts I’ve halted. I’ve effectively stopped six wars at this point,” he remarked.

Since assuming office, Trump has brokered various ceasefires and peace arrangements. One notable agreement was between Israel and Iran following a twelve-day war marked by intense conflict, particularly after Trump authorized strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites.

A ceasefire between the two was agreed upon on June 23 and went into effect the next day.

Another significant deal facilitated by Trump involved the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, which culminated in a peace agreement by the end of June after a 30-year conflict.

Following the signing of the agreement overseen by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Rwandan official Olivier Ndungea expressed that Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in ending the strife.

“Every effort, including President Trump’s, has helped lay the groundwork for peace. It absolutely deserves recognition,” he stated.

The fourth key ceasefire was facilitated between India and Pakistan, averting a potential escalation that could have led to military confrontations.

“We are happy to share that after extended discussions mediated by the U.S., India and Pakistan have agreed to a total and immediate ceasefire,” Trump noted in reference to the talks.

“Kudos to both nations for applying sound judgment. Thank you for addressing this critical issue,” he added.

The ceasefire has held up, even amid early accusations of violations from both parties, as reported by AFP. Breitbart News also highlighted calls for Trump to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in light of this agreement.

In another unexpected move in May, Trump announced a ceasefire involving Yemen’s Houthi group, which had previously targeted U.S. naval vessels. As part of this agreement, the Houthis would cease these actions in exchange for the U.S. halting its military operations in Yemen. However, the group has continued attacks on Israel.

Trump also played a role in reconciling tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia concerning the Grand Renaissance Dam on the Nile River.

“The situation with Egypt and Ethiopia over the dam impacting the Nile is resolved, at least for now, thanks to my intervention!” Trump shared in a post on June 15. However, recent reports indicated rising tensions around discussions on operational and water-sharing protocols concerning the dam.
