Jena Sims Responds to Criticism Over Happy Gilmore 2 Casting

Jena Sims isn’t shy about expressing her feelings. In a TikTok video shared on Monday night, the actress and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, age 36, addressed speculation about her role in Netflix’s “Happy Gilmore 2.” Some people believe she landed the part due to her marriage to Brooks Koepka, a star golfer on LIV Golf.

“When I auditioned for Happy Gilmore 2, everyone thinks it’s because of my husband,” she said in the video while dancing along to the trailer, adding, “And thanks to my man, my man,” moving her lips playfully.

Sims made a cameo as an enthusiastic fan of golfers who ultimately challenge Adam Sandler’s character.

Alongside Koepka, whom she wed in 2022, the film also features golfers like Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and Scotty Scheffler from the original 1996 film.

“Happy Gilmore 2” debuted on Netflix in July 2025.

In an interview, Sims mentioned that she enjoyed coaching Koepka, 35, on acting techniques. “It felt like he was stepping into my world,” she remarked. “I had to teach him how to read a script and identify key elements. It was interesting to see him step out of his usual comfort zone.”

Typically, Sims can be found supporting Koepka at tournaments, often trying to stay in the background. “Here, though, it was completely different,” she noted. “I had to jump up and down, scream, and really draw attention to myself.”

Koepka, a five-time major champion, has nine PGA Tour victories under his name before joining LIV Golf in 2022. Meanwhile, Sims boasts a range of acting credits, from “The 50-Foot Cheerleader Attack” to the “Sharknado” series.
