Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71

The wrestling community is mourning the loss of Hulk Hogan, who has died at the age of 71. He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest in his Florida home.

Hogan’s influence on WWE and the wrestling world cannot be overstated. He played a crucial role in elevating professional wrestling to a prominent place in pop culture and sports entertainment. WWE honored Hogan with a tribute that included a salute of ten bells and a video montage chronicling his remarkable career.

In a recent interview, Alexa Bliss reflected on Hogan’s significant impact on wrestling while preparing for her tag team match against Charlotte Flair at Summerslam. “He clearly led the way for what we’re able to do today. Thanks to him, we can hold massive events, and our Summerslam is actually a two-day affair,” she said. She added, “When people think of WWE, Hulk Hogan’s name almost always comes up.”

Bliss shared a personal memory from WrestleMania, noting a fun surprise entrance they had together. “It was a blast,” she recalled. “His impact on our industry is undeniable.”

In addition to her own memories, Bliss noted a video her husband, singer Ryan Cabrera, took during WrestleMania 35 which features Hogan. It was amusing to her that, initially, Cabrera didn’t realize she was in the same video. “He thought he had a video of just Hulk Hogan until I pointed out that I was right next to him!” she laughed. “It’s pretty neat to think of it like that.”

While reflecting on Hogan’s legacy, Bliss expressed her sadness over his passing. “It’s a tragic loss, especially for his family,” she said.

Bliss, alongside Flair, will be competing for tag team titles against Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez at Summerslam, scheduled over the weekend.
