Trolls create Luigi Mangione-style memes about Blackstone executive Wesley LePatner following his death in a NYC shooting

A social media user recently celebrated the passing of Blackstone executive Wesley Repatner.

Following a shooting incident on Monday at 345 Park Ave., a disturbing image surfaced online showing the word “Luigi’d” scrawled in red on the face of the former senior managing director.

Posts circulating on Facebook, which garnered thousands of likes, referenced Repatner’s death with a phrase claiming he had been “kicked out of Mortal Plane.”

This unsettling commentary linked to Luigi Mangionne, a figure accused of the targeted murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4th in Midtown Manhattan.

Mangionne has been embraced by some underground circles, who laud his actions as those of a brave critic of the healthcare system.

Meanwhile, another individual online echoed sentiments with the phrase “CEO Down,” laughing off the mourning of two mothers lost to a brutal shooting during Monday’s traffic rush.

Repatner, at 46, was a senior managing director and CEO of Blackstone’s Real Estate Income Trust, overseeing a $53 billion portfolio, according to Bloomberg.

His family released a statement expressing deep sorrow over his tragic loss, describing him as a “loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and relative” who enriched their lives in countless ways.

Blackstone also shared their grief, stating, “Words cannot express the devastation we feel. Wesley is a beloved member of the Blackstone family and will be deeply missed.”

Repatner was one of four individuals who lost their lives in the shooting on Monday. Shane Tamra, 27, is accused of killing an NYPD officer and two others during the tragic event.
