Tiki Barber leaves CBS NFL as he becomes part of the Giants' radio team

Tiki Barber’s NFL Game Day lineup looks promising this year.

The former Giants running back is set to join the team’s radio broadcast, according to an announcement made by the franchise on Wednesday.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Barber has been working as a game analyst for “CBS in the NFL” since 2019.

Barber, who has co-hosted WFAN’s afternoon show “Evan & Tiki” since 2022, will team up with John Schmeelk from Giants.com as a new pre-game co-host for the Giants’ Gameday Broadcasts. The extension of the broadcast partnership between WFAN and the Giants was revealed on Wednesday.

“I’m really looking forward to joining WFAN’s Giants Gameday Radio Broadcast team. This organization has meant so much to me, both professionally and personally,” Barber shared.

“The Giants have a rich history of legendary broadcasters. Wellington Mara always emphasized communicating clearly because our fans know what they want. I can’t wait to deliver the kind of analysis and insights that Giants fans value.”

Drafted as the Giants’ second pick in 1997, Barber played his entire NFL career with the team, retiring after the 2006 season.

In a recent shakeup at CBS, Charles Davis will step in for Barber, along with play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon and analyst Jason McCarty.

JJ Watt, previously on “NFL Today,” will transition to a full-time analyst position for the network’s second broadcast team, alongside play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle and sideline reporter Evan Washburn.

The Giants and WFAN plan to kick off the broadcast extension with a programming day from Giants Training Camp at the Quest Diagnostic Training Center on Thursday, featuring shows like “Boomer & Geo” and “Evan & Tiki” at 2 PM.

The reason for Barber’s reported exit from CBS remains unclear.

A request for comment was made to CBS.

The Giants will start their 2025 season against the Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Maryland on September 7th.
