Banza Expands Pasta Line with Brown Rice Option
Banza, the company hailed for making chickpea pasta popular, is introducing a new addition to its pasta lineup. This time, it’s a Brown Rice Pasta, which is now available at Whole Foods across the country. The blend combines brown rice with Banza’s signature chickpeas, aiming to satisfy gluten-free customers looking for a quality option.
According to the company, this launch aims to solve ongoing problems faced by gluten-free shoppers. Brian Rudolph, the CEO and co-founder of Banza, mentioned, “As someone who is gluten-free, I totally get the need for pasta that feels as normal as possible.” He added that their new brown rice pasta retains its quality even when used in soups the next day. While Banza’s original chickpea pasta is known for its nutrition, this new blend enhances both texture and overall taste.
Banza’s original Chickpea Pasta has carved out a strong reputation, made from just chickpeas, tapioca, pea protein, and xanthan gum. It almost doubles the fiber content of regular pasta and has a delightful “al dente” bite. It’s gluten-free, non-GMO, and cooks quickly, making it a practical choice for busy weeknight meals.
Produced in Italy, Banza’s pastas come in four familiar shapes: Penne, Rotini, Elbow, and Spaghetti. The new Banza Brown Rice Pasta is certified gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, kosher, and free from the top nine allergens. It’s also the first pasta in the U.S. certified by Cleanscan from the Detox Project, meaning it has been tested and found to have no detectable levels of over 400 pesticides. Shoppers can check the results via a QR code on the box.
This product is currently available in stores and online for $3.99 per box, with Eatbanza.com retailing it for $29.99. Additional releases are planned for this fall at various retailers like Buds, Target, Trave Market, Amazon Fresh, and Wegman. This launch likely signifies Banza’s ambition to elevate gluten-free staples once more, banking on the robust flavor and the unique benefits of chickpeas.
