King Clean Cut
Jason Momoa, known for his role in “Aquaman,” is gearing up for his next project with a fresh, clean-shaven look—his first in six years.
In an Instagram reel posted on Wednesday, he expressed, “God cares about it, I hate it.”
The actor, who previously played Duncan Idaho in the 2021 release of “Dune,” is changing his appearance as he prepares for “Dune Messiah.”
He mentioned, “Dennis, just for you,” acknowledging director Denis Villeneuve, who has overseen both parts of the “Dune” series.
Although Momoa’s character did not return for the 2024 sequel due to his death in the first film, he has confirmed he will appear in the third film when his character is revived as a clone, as he shared in a March 2025 interview with “Today.”
Momoa’s transition away from his iconic facial hair has drawn attention, with clips from his Hollywood appearances highlighting it.
Reflecting on his look, he noted, “I did the ‘Dune’ thing for about six years, or maybe a bit more.” He also remarked on the launch of his company, Mananal, which pioneered the use of aluminum bottles.
In his eco-friendly efforts, he has partnered with Boomerang Water, which seeks to reduce plastic waste for future generations.
Momoa’s son, Nakoa Wolf, will be featured in the eagerly awaited third installment of the “Dune” trilogy. He is set to portray Leto II, the twin of characters played by Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
The young actor will share the screen with “Silo” actress Ida Brooke.
Currently, Momoa co-parents two teenagers, Nakoa-Wolf and daughter Lola Iolani, with his ex-wife, actress Lisa Bonet. Their divorce was publicly confirmed in June 2024, marking seven years since their marriage.
Interestingly, he isn’t the only one changing looks for the film; fans have also noticed that Chalamet appeared to have closely shaved his head recently.
The “Call Me by Your Name” star was spotted with a bandana and a cap, which covered much of his hair as he enjoyed a day out with Kylie Jenner at St. Tropez.
“Dune Messiah” is set to be released in December 2026.
