Controversy Surrounds American Eagle Ad Featuring Sidney Sweeney

The White House stirred up significant backlash regarding an American Eagle advertisement with Sidney Sweeney, suggesting it’s a key reason for Trump’s success in the 2024 election.

This week, Breitbart News highlighted how some executives became outraged over the ad, which includes a play on words—”Sydney Sweeney has some amazing jeans”—utilizing both “jeans” and “genes.” Certain activists online have accused the ad of making light of Nazi eugenics.

One particularly animated TikTok user went so far as to claim the advertisement was so offensive it deserved a spot in a history textbook, exclaiming it’s “Nazi propaganda.”

Another individual described the ad as an “Eugenics Advertisement,” alleging that American Eagle was using “fassy coded” messaging aimed at resurrecting the Third Reich.

A left-leaning commentator, also equipped with piercings, suggested that the ad was designed to “seat blacks and brown women,” further inflaming the discussion.

Major media outlets have contributed to the frenzy, labeling the ad as “controversial” or even describing it as fostering a “Cultural change to whiteness.”

White House communications director Stephen Chang remarked that this type of response indicates a deeper issue, suggesting that Americans are “fed up” with what he termed “this nonsense.” He stated, “Cancel culture is rampant. This absurd liberal thinking is a major reason for the way Americans voted in 2024. They’re tired of it.”

Reactions among Democrats have varied widely. Ben Dreyfuss criticized the backlash, suggesting that those complaining about the ad have “cats in their brains” that need to be dealt with. He described the situation as utterly irrational, hinting that the reactions only serve to fuel further backlash.

Directed by Paul Roland Bois, there’s also been mention of a film called Exemplum, praised by certain reviewers for its quality and uniqueness.
