Job Growth in the U.S. Primarily Benefits Native-Born Citizens

Trump’s Economic Vision Focuses on Native Workforce

President Donald Trump’s approach to the economy emphasizes the importance of native-born workers over those coming from abroad, which marks a departure from policies under former President Joe Biden, who largely relied on immigrant labor.

In July, Trump’s administration reported a surge in net job growth among native Americans, even as a significant number of foreign-born workers exited the labor force monthly.

“Despite what some headlines say, this employment report indicated a solid achievement with 2 million people finding jobs among native-born Americans year on year. The growth among natives outpaced that of foreign-born workers by 2.2 million,” remarked economist Eji Antoni on social media.

He added, “In contrast, employment for foreign-born individuals has decreased by about 237,000. Essentially, all the net job growth over the past year has benefited those born in America.”

A chart shared by Financial Blog Zero Hedge illustrated how Trump’s initiatives have bolstered trends in foreign-born employment over the last few months, while jobs for native-born individuals have been increasing.

“This employment data reflects the intentional reduction of foreign labor. Since April, the number of foreign-born workers has dropped by 1.5 million over four consecutive months, with 383,000 native-born workers hired in July alone,” noted a report.

The Labor Bureau, under Lori Chavez-Deremer’s leadership, has celebrated the uptick in jobs for native-born citizens.

In contrast, Biden’s policies flooded the labor market with foreign workers, which has led to an oversupply of labor, stagnant wages, and nearly all net job growth going to newly arrived migrants from the southern border.

According to research from the Center for Immigration Research, while immigrants accounted for more than 4.7 million new jobs during Biden’s tenure, native-born Americans only saw an increase of 645,000 jobs.

Put simply, Biden’s economic strategy resulted in the creation of 7.3 immigrant jobs for every position filled by an American.
