Jelly Roll Set for Summer Slam Match
Country music sensation Jelly Roll is gearing up for a tag team bout at Summer Slam, facing off against WWE star Randy Orton alongside Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul this weekend.
Back in April, Jelly Roll made an appearance at WrestleMania 41. Recently, he found himself in the ring attempting to assist Orton as McIntyre and Paul pressured him. During the main event on Saturday night, Jelly Roll took a hard dropkick right to McIntyre’s face.
In the final “Friday Night Smackdown” before Summer Slam, Jelly Roll delivered a powerful black hole slam to Paul, leaving a mark before the big match. He emphasized that wrestling is as real as it gets, saying, “These men and women put their bodies through a lot… I’ve been there myself. There’s nothing fake about landing on plywood in front of 60,000 fans.” He even mentioned injuring his pinky during training, which highlights the physical toll involved.
Jelly Roll acknowledged that having Orton by his side gave him the “courage” to step into the ring at Summer Slam.
Randy Orton has also praised Jelly Roll’s ability to handle the increasing attention he’s received recently. “It’s pretty well-known that Jelly Roll is a fantastic person. He finds time for everyone. Just a few weeks back, he took a moment to meet my wife while juggling a busy schedule on The Jimmy Kimmel Show,” Orton shared. “He’s incredibly busy, but he still makes an effort to connect with people, which speaks volumes about his character.”
Summer Slam is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
