Angel Reese seems to have a playful take on the recent WNBA incident involving flying sex toys.
During a game this week, two dildos were tossed onto the court, and Reese had some fun with Fever player Sidney Colson after the situation unfolded during a match on Friday.
“Hey @sydjcolson, why are you still throwing that average greenery into different arenas… That’s getting a bit weird, isn’t it?” she tweeted on Friday. “I’m sorry, but I never meant to throw it so far,” she humorously replied to Colson, who had made a jest after the first occurrence on Tuesday.
This looks like it might become a running joke after the green adult toy made its appearance during the Valkyries game.
The initial incident happened in the fourth quarter of the Valkyries’ narrow 77-75 win when the noticeable lime green dildo landed on the court.
Play came to a halt while security worked to remove the objects.
“Oh, OK, that’s inappropriate,” remarked TV announcer Morgan Lagan. “Get out of here, whoever you are?”
The drama continued on Friday during the third quarter of the Valkyries’ 73-66 win over Reese’s Sky; the referee simply kicked the object off the court, allowing the game to proceed.
Since Reese was out due to a back injury, Colson shared a smiling photo in response to Reese’s tweet.
While Reese seemed to find humor in the situation, others in the league were less amused.
Teammate Elizabeth Williams expressed her dismay, saying, “It’s very rude. I don’t really understand the point of that. It’s really immature. Anyone doing that needs to grow up.”
Fever star Sophie Cunningham voiced her concerns on X, commenting, “Stop throwing dildos on the court… you might hurt someone.”
Liberty Center’s Isabel Harrison added, “It’s not funny. Arena security?! Hello??! This is ridiculous. It’s dangerous to toss something onto the court.”
The Valkyries are set to play against Vegas on Sunday, and everyone will likely be watching closely to see if another incident occurs.
