'Celebrity Family Feud' Showcases First All-Trans Team with Laverne Cox, Supporting Black Prostitutes

Celebrity Family Feud Features All-Trans Team

On Thursday, the show Celebrity Family Feud presented its first all-trans team. Actor Laverne Cox described his fellow contestants as “my chosen family” while raising funds for a black trans woman involved in sex work.

“We’re here on Celebrity Family Feud, and I’m with my chosen family—my beloved sisters Mira Jam, Jocelyn de Fries, TS Madison, and Peppermint,” Cox shared in an Instagram video leading up to the episode.

“Team Laverne,” consisting exclusively of trans individuals, competed to garner support for the TS Madison Starter House. Madison described it as “an innovative housing initiative designed to support and empower black trans women engaged in sex work.”

“We are partnering with NAESM to support the Starter House at TS Madison,” she explained, noting that it aims to assist trans women reintegrating into society.

Cox enthusiastically stated, “Hallelujah, honey! We’re going to have fun and raise money for charity.” Madison chimed in with a “Yes, honey,” while Cox confidently said, “We look good.”

During the episode, host Steve Harvey asked Madison if he could address her as “TS,” to which she graciously responded, “Of course.” Madison humorously remarked, “It’s okay to release the ball. I’m playing a free ball for free today!”

Cox also reflected on the sense of freedom among their team, saying, “Some of us are free, and some of us are free, as some of us are free.” Madison lightheartedly shared, “Mine was named Chucky! Friends to the end!”

A remark from one of the transgender contestants left Harvey momentarily speechless during the show.
