Hamas Releases Disturbing Video of Israeli Hostage

On Friday, Hamas distributed a troubling propaganda video featuring Eviatar David, a 24-year-old Israeli hostage, who appears increasingly frail while mentioning his potential grave.

The nearly five-minute footage shows David navigating cramped tunnels. At one point, he offers a can of beans, stating, “This is the grave where I think I will be buried. Time is running out.” The video has sparked widespread concern, with many questioning the lack of global outrage.

David was taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023. His family, who permitted the video to be shared, remarked that it’s “one of the most horrifying acts the world has seen.”

In a statement, they expressed their agony, saying, “We are forced to witness our beloved son and brother Eviatar David… living skeletons in the tunnels of Hamas in Gaza. Our son has only a few days left.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the actions of Hamas, stating, “While Israel allows humanitarian access for Gaza residents, Hamas will deliberately starve our hostages and record their suffering.” He emphasized that such actions are designed to manipulate global perception.

In comments reminiscent of his past experiences, Holocaust survivor Naphtali Fuest drew parallels to his time in Auschwitz, recalling hunger and humiliation. He expressed deep horror at the conditions faced by hostages like David.

U.S. lawmakers, including Senators John Fetterman and Mike Lawler, criticized the video, calling for the immediate release of all hostages and an end to the ongoing conflict. Lawler highlighted the urgent need for humanity, lamenting the lack of criticism directed towards Hamas regarding the humanitarian crisis.

French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barlot also spoke out, labeling the video as “despicable” and calling for the unconditional release of the hostages, insisting that Hamas be disarmed completely.
