The Shift in Advertising Approaches

In recent years, many companies have aligned themselves with the “woke” agenda, trying to stand out in the marketplace. However, there seems to be a noticeable shift away from this trend, exemplified perfectly by Sydney Sweeney’s new ad for American Eagle.

This past Monday, Trump created quite a stir by drawing a surprising comparison between American Eagle and Jaguar. He remarked, “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘hottest’ ads,” calling attention to her work with American Eagle and joking that their jeans are “flying off the shelf.” He even encouraged others to check it out.

“The current has shifted dramatically. The woke movement is for losers. Republicans are the ones to emulate,” he stated, driving home his point.

Some brands, it seems, haven’t fully grasped the impact of what happened with Bud Light’s advertising missteps. Trump continued, commenting on Jaguar’s recent ad as “absurd” and a total failure. He expressed disbelief that anyone would want to purchase a Jaguar after witnessing what he termed a disgraceful advertisement, especially following the CEO’s resignation amidst the chaos.

The ad itself featured individuals dressed in highly vibrant and extravagant outfits with the tagline “No copy.” A conservative political activist, Robby Starbuck, expressed his disdain, stating, “This just makes me want to sell a Jaguar, even though I don’t own one.”

In related news, Jaguar’s CEO, Adrian Mardel, announced his resignation effective December 31, 2025, after a long tenure that significantly changed the company. Despite prior successes, it appears that the fallout from the recent advertising controversy has taken its toll.

The spokesperson mentioned that a successor for Mardel will be announced soon.

“The tide has really turned. Wokeness is for losers, and being Republican is what you should aspire to,” Trump concluded his remarks.

Jaguar Land Rover has yet to respond to requests for comments regarding the backlash.
