WWE: Tension Among Stars

There seems to be a wave of farewells among female WWE stars lately.

Earlier this year, Tiffany Stratton made an unfortunate comment about Charlotte Flair’s three divorces during a promotion for WrestleMania 41. It wasn’t scripted, and Flair was understandably upset about it.

This past Monday night, Becky Lynch took to the ring for the first “Monday Night Raw” after a spectacular Summer Slam. She faced off against Nikki Bella, who took the opportunity to throw shade at Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins. Bella mentioned how Rollins had successfully cashed in a Money in the Bank deal and claimed he had faked knee injuries to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

It’s interesting, really, how personal these rivalries can get. Lynch got a bit personal too, alluding to Bella’s past with John Cena, which certainly stirred up the crowd. I mean, it’s no secret—Cena proposed to Bella during WrestleMania 33, and they were engaged for nearly a year before calling off the wedding, which must have been pretty dramatic.

Speaking of drama, Bella’s romantic journey has been quite the rollercoaster. Before her engagement to Cena, she married her “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Artem Chigvinstev. However, their relationship took a dark turn when he faced felony domestic violence charges in 2024, leading Bella to file for divorce shortly after.
