Ben Stiller’s enthusiasm for basketball in New York goes beyond just the Knicks.
The well-loved actor was seen at the Liberty Games on Tuesday night, mingling with the team for celebratory photos after their victory. He was joined by fellow actors John Turturro and Zach Cherry from the popular Apple TV+ series Severance after the Liberty triumphed over the Wings with a score of 85-76 at Barclays Center.
Following the game, Stiller hit the court to capture a group shot with the team, including some prominent figures from the show and the production team.
Johnkel Jones shared her excitement about the moment, expressing a desire to meet Marine Johannès. She mentioned, “She tried to rely on [Breana Stewart] and asked, ‘Can you tell him to come? Can I take a photo?’ We all gathered and told him to step in for a nice photo. He’s a fantastic actor; we grew up watching him. It feels great to see him here supporting us.”
Jones’ remarks added an interesting twist to the situation, as social media users posted clips showcasing Johannès being drawn in by Stewart, making sure she got the shot she wanted.
Stiller has become closely associated with Knicks basketball during their playoff runs, frequently spotted courtside and often sharing his thoughts on social media.
On Tuesday, he received a warm reception when shown on the video board at Barclays Center. Additionally, clips circulated online showing him participating in the “Elly Wave” during a break in the action.
With this win against the Wings, the Liberty’s season record improves to 19-10.
