Brad Pitt is mourning the death of his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who passed away at the age of 84.

His daughter, Sydney Pitt, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram this Wednesday, posting a touching photo of the family matriarch.

In her tribute, she wrote, “My Sweet Grammy Awards, Jane Etta, we weren’t prepared for this. Yet, it’s comforting to know you can finally sing, dance, and paint again.”

“If you knew about the Grammys, you’d understand she had the biggest heart. She truly cared for everyone without any hesitation.”

“She taught me how to draw, to be strong, to show kindness, and to love Jesus with everything. She had this silly game that always made us laugh,” Sydney reminisced.

She also shared memories of special moments spent with her children, like the “special day” her mother planned each year before school began.

“We’d usually start with banana splits for breakfast, then a little adventure—going to craft projects, or enjoying the rides at Silver Dollar City. Dinner at Olive Garden with Dad was a must, and sometimes we’d finish the night by watching *Paulie* until I drifted off.”

As Sydney reflected further, she mentioned how her mother effortlessly connected with all 14 of her grandchildren, saying, “There was no limit to the love she offered, and everyone who knew her felt it deeply.”

Expressing a deep sense of loss, Sydney admitted, “I’m not sure how to move ahead without her. But I believe she’s still present in every brush stroke, every act of kindness, and every hummingbird. She embodied love in its truest form.”
