I discarded it.

I discarded it.

Travis Kelce is shaking off the disappointment from Chiefs fans.

As he kicks off his 13th NFL season, this future Hall of Famer knows what it takes to clinch a Super Bowl title. The sting from last season’s loss is still there, a gap that hasn’t quite been filled.

Now that August has rolled in, the exhausting summer is behind him. Kelce aims to add a fourth Super Bowl trophy to his collection.

“I threw that into the trash,” he stated, referring to the Chiefs’ heavy defeat in February, according to ESPN. “I moved on. It happened earlier than you could imagine. I was pretty focused this year in the offseason.”

The Super Bowl loss to the Eagles wasn’t pretty; Kansas City was trounced 40-22, with a momentary score of 34-0 against them.

This defeat dashed the Chiefs’ hopes for a three-peat, leading to speculation about retirement for the 35-year-old Kelce.

However, the tight end clearly still has fire left, having returned to training camp in reportedly excellent shape.

“He looks like he’s 20,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid commented two weeks ago. “He’s doing a good job and he’s in great condition. I don’t know if he didn’t start first about the overall conditioning. You can see him working hard.”

After what seemed like a flashy offseason, which included a vacation with his girlfriend Taylor Swift, Kelce expresses joy in being back at Western State University in Missouri, where players stay during training camp.

“I love this place,” he said. “It keeps me away from everything else happening in this crazy world. You can really focus on your play and strive to be your best for those around you.”

“Football has always been the biggest driving force I’ve had. I cherish coming here to focus, and hopefully, we can make another Super Bowl run.”
