Newsmax Host Tracks Down 'Creep' Accused of Taking Photos of 12-Year-Old Daughter at the Beach

Connecticut Man Accused of Photographing Young Girl at Beach

On Wednesday, NewsMax’s Carl Higbie confronted a man in Connecticut who was allegedly taking a picture of his 12-year-old daughter at Todd Point Beach. This incident was initially reported by Greenwich Time and involved the man filming at least one minor.

Kaitlyn, Higbie’s ex-wife, shared that she was at the beach that day with her current husband, their two sons, and a friend, enjoying the sunny afternoon when the man started acting suspiciously. Interestingly, Higbie wasn’t with them during the incident.

Kaitlyn recalled that the children had been burying sand when she saw the man trying to take pictures. She snapped a picture of him too—it seemed a bit odd because, she noted, the background was just a brick wall, not the ocean.

“It wasn’t the ocean or anything. He was pointing it at the kids, with a brick wall or rock wall behind them,” Kaitlyn told DCNF.

Initially, she didn’t confront the man, but later, while walking down the beach, she pointed him out to her husband. Upon spotting him again, Kaitlyn saw the man pull out his phone and seemingly take a photo of her daughter and her friend.

Kaitlyn described how she decided to approach him while her husband urged her to check his phone. Things escalated quickly, prompting her to ask a lifeguard to call 911.

The man reportedly refused to show his phone and suggested that he could delete the photo if they didn’t call the cops. After turning down his suggestion, Kaitlyn and her husband followed him to his car, where a video captured him accessing a recently deleted folder and permanently erasing the photo.

A clip showed him selecting at least nine photos, which appeared to include images of children from that day on the beach.

When police arrived, they informed Kaitlyn that taking photos in public spaces wasn’t illegal. According to a statement by the Greenwich Police Department on Facebook, an adult was seen photographing a young girl, and after being approached, he drove away from the scene.

Higbie later confronted the man outside his home, where the man quickly claimed that he hadn’t given permission to be recorded and insisted that he wasn’t doing anything wrong. He defended his actions, saying he takes photos occasionally and apologized if there was a misunderstanding.

The investigation remains ongoing, and as of now, there are no official charges against the man involved.

The Greenwich Police Department has yet to respond to requests for further comments.
