Three Transbergers That No One Wants to Try

Three Transbergers That No One Wants to Try

Below is today’s status, a morning newsletter.

Greetings, dear reader,

So, diving right in, I want to give you the unfiltered scoop on national politics. No frills, just the essentials. As usual, there’s a lot happening with Trump 2025.

Instead of skimming through topics, I prefer to delve deeply into some key issues.

Today, you are…

Three other things

Transburger

Democrats are feeling the pressure, especially Virginia Governor candidate Abigail Spanberger.

A local reporter asked her several straightforward questions about transgender policies in schools, a hot topic that helped Republican Glenn Youngkin secure his position.

The questions covered everything you’d expect: locker rooms, bathrooms, sports, and federal funding.

Her response was rather vague.

“Abigail is a mother of three in Virginia public schools. She prioritizes children’s safety and believes parents should have a say in their kids’ education.”

To some, that sounds like dodging the questions. To others, it’s frustratingly unclear.

Interestingly, there’s been some backlash regarding her use of the word “safety” when it wasn’t central to the questions posed. Is she suggesting that trans kids aren’t safe?

Previously, Spanberger expressed her intention to distance herself from what she called “silly ideas” within her party.

If she and her fellow Democrats can’t engage with these issues more realistically, they’re likely to miss out on future victories.

Nobels are too cracked to ring

In another development, Putin has expressed interest in meeting with Trump.

This comes after a visit from Steve Witkov, who is reportedly on a special mission to meet the Russian leader.

Trump has mentioned his desire to discuss terms with Putin and is planning a “trilateral” meeting with Zelensky soon.

Recently, Trump has appeared to be more involved with Russian matters. Following significant aerial attacks from Russia, he suggested shortening ceasefire timelines dramatically.

Reports from the BBC indicate that “President Putin has remained unperturbed by Trump’s remarks on the war.” Is that the right call?

There are a few points that stand out to me. Trump is serious about peace—there’s no confusion there. For him, it seems to hinge on a choice between peace or war.

Secondly, if he continues this approach, it may indeed be difficult to ignore his potential claim to a peace prize.

Then again, past accolades do come with their own complexities.

Good AI news?

It’s a bit like an age-old question: if someone is fired but no one is around to witness it, did it really happen?

IBM has recently let go of about 8,000 HR staff as they ramp up AI integration. Tasks like payroll and leave requests are just becoming less reliant on human oversight.

But there’s more…

When you call customer support and hear someone who claims their name is “Brian,” even though their accent suggests otherwise, those jobs might soon be at risk too.

I get it, chatting with automated systems can be a hassle, but I sometimes wish for a more personalized experience.

AI might be taking over more roles beyond just HR and call centers.

Consultancy firms like McKinsey see AI as a game-changer for their operations.

They have a history of advising major corporations and even government entities on sometimes controversial decisions.

I understand and recognize the risks that AI presents.

But isn’t it worth addressing the job losses they cause first?
