Kelly Clarkson Cancels Las Vegas Residency Date

Kelly Clarkson has unexpectedly canceled her scheduled performance for August at her Las Vegas residency, attributing the decision to personal family matters related to her ex-husband.

In an Instagram post to her 7.8 million followers, Clarkson explained that Brandon Blackstock’s declining health has impeded her ability to continue with the planned shows. She described this period as a “difficult time” for her family and emphasized the need to prioritize her children.

“Unfortunately, we will need to postpone the rest of the dates for our August studio session in Las Vegas,” she mentioned. Clarkson also shared, “I usually keep my personal life private, but my child’s father has been unwell for the past year, and I need to be fully present for them right now.”

She didn’t go into detail about the specifics of Blackstock’s health issue.

The couple, who finalized their divorce in 2022, shares two children, River and Remington.

Fans expressed disappointment over the sudden cancellation, but many also praised Clarkson for putting her children’s needs first, with several acknowledging that “family comes first.”

“We are so grateful to everyone who purchased tickets for the show and we appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding,” Clarkson stated.

This marks the second time she has postponed her residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum since July 11th. The first two shows were canceled after she strained her vocal cords during rehearsals.
