Heidi Fleiss Not Interested in Biopic
Heidi Fleiss, the former “Hollywood Madame,” is not keen on revisiting her past through the upcoming film “Heidi Fleiss Story,” where Aubrey Plaza portrays her. Fleiss is known for her involvement in a luxury prostitution ring in the 1990s.
In an interview with TMZ, she acknowledged that she believes 41-year-old Plaza is a suitable choice for the role. However, she expressed clear disinterest in watching the movie, stating, “the past is dead.”
“No one can do what I did,” she remarked, indicating her unique perspective on her former life.
Fleiss mentioned that she had seen Plaza in “White Lotus,” but reiterated that her involvement in the film project is nonexistent.
According to reports, Plaza’s company is producing “Heidi Fleiss Story,” marking a significant return to the spotlight for Plaza, especially following the tragic death of her husband, Jeff Bena, earlier this year.
Leah Rachel, known for creating Netflix’s horror series “Chambers,” will be making her directorial debut with this biopic. She’s also co-written the script alongside Rachel Sennott and Travis Jackson. The film began production in Los Angeles and aims to portray connections surrounding Fleiss’s life, focusing on an aspiring writer tracking her down before trial.
Fleiss garnered notoriety after her 1993 arrest for running a prostitution operation, which led to charges of pandering and tax evasion. Her client list included some of the wealthiest men, such as actor Charlie Sheen. Ultimately, she spent 20 months in prison out of a seven-year sentence.
Beyond her past, Fleiss has shifted her focus to rescuing birds on her ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. She reflects on this transformation positively, saying it brings her a feeling of adventure and joy, particularly in seeing the birds flourish in a free environment.
