Arch Manning’s Future at Texas

Archie Manning, the proud grandfather of Texas quarterback Arch, has a strong belief that his grandson will remain with the team for a while. While he hasn’t directly addressed the possibility of Arch declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft, he doesn’t foresee that happening. “Arch isn’t going to do that. He’ll be in Texas,” said Manning.

This season marks Arch’s first as a starter, and the excitement around him is palpable. Fans are even throwing around the idea of him being a Heisman Trophy candidate. “It’s kind of wild when people say he’s a candidate for Heisman,” Archie remarked, adding, “I mean, when you’re only playing three games, that’s a bit much.” This season, Arch stepped in admirably when Quinn Ewers dealt with an oblique injury, starting three games as a result.

Besides his three starts, Manning has participated in a total of seven games this year. He’s shown remarkable skills—completing nearly 68% of his passes with 939 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. On the ground, he added four rushing touchdowns and even managed to run for over 100 yards in one game. Interestingly, even after Ewers returned, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian included Manning in some plays that focused on running the quarterback position.

Last season, the Longhorns were impressive, finishing with a 13-3 record but fell short in the semi-finals against the Ohio State Buckeyes. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Arch to see if he can lead Texas to national championship aspirations. It’s an exhilarating time for Longhorn fans.
