Investigation into Death of Bikini Designer in Montauk
Montauk, New York – Local law enforcement has been investigating a yacht in Montauk following the death of an Irish bikini designer, whose body was discovered on board. This unfortunate incident has brought new details to light regarding the ongoing inquiry into the 33-year-old’s demise.
On Tuesday, investigators were seen examining a yacht docked at the Monter Cafe Club on Star Island Road, a high-end marina in Eastern Long Island. Wearing disposable blue gloves, they took photos and walked along the docks of nearby yachts.
A source close to the case indicated that fingerprint powder was found on the yacht, suggesting a serious examination of the scene.
The deceased has been identified as Marsanolan Osratara, a fashion entrepreneur from Manhattan celebrated for her stylish bikini line and active social media presence. Unfortunately, despite attempts by bystanders to perform CPR, she was pronounced dead on the vessel.
Late on Monday night, a man, believed to be associated with the boat, reportedly shouted for help at the marina. A witness described him as being naked and frantically asking others to “do something.” In his distress, he even tossed items onto a nearby boat, waking its crew.
Witnesses reported that two crew members from an adjacent yacht called 911 after realizing the seriousness of the situation. Investigators spent roughly 18 hours on the scene before removing the body.
Authorities are still working to determine the official cause of death. Reports from Wednesday indicated that the initial autopsy found no signs of foul play.
Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden noted that the cause should be clearer within a week once toxicology results come in. He explained that most autopsies can indicate, with some confidence, whether a death is natural or violent on the first day, but further testing might be needed for clarity.
A local resident, speaking anonymously, mentioned that some areas in Montauk are known party hotspots where illicit drug use is common. “In this scene, it’s fairly normal for people to use cocaine,” she remarked, indicating a party atmosphere prevalent among influencers in the area.
Family Grieving the Loss
Meanwhile, Osratara’s family is grappling with the shocking news. Her mother, Elma, expressed her devastation, feeling paralyzed by the situation. She recalled the moment her daughter Jackie shared the tragic news, describing it as a heartbreaking experience.
Elma conveyed that she had spoken with a Montauk detective but was told that details of the case would remain confidential for now due to the ongoing investigation.
Friends and family remembered Marsanolan as someone dedicated to her brand, East X East, which showcased resort wear that she passionately created. Her recent social media updates highlighted her accomplishments and the excitement she found in her work.
The Montauk community is shaken, as this picturesque area has faced several tragedies in recent times, challenging its reputation as a peaceful retreat. A spokesperson for the Montauk Yacht Club confirmed the incident and stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.
