Ghislaine Maxwell Barred from Service Dog Training in New Jail

Ghislaine Maxwell, who is known for her connection to Jeffrey Epstein, has recently been denied the chance to take part in a service dog training program at her new prison. She was moved from a federal facility in Tallahassee, Florida, to a lower-security prison camp in Bryan, Texas, where conditions are considered more relaxed.

Reports indicate that FPC Bryan does offer service dog training for inmates. However, Paige Mazzoni, who oversees the program, stated that individuals like Maxwell, due to their past offenses, are not permitted to engage in puppy training. She explained, “We don’t allow people whose crime involves cruelty to minors or animals. It’s a difficult policy, but she can’t participate.” The rationale here is that inmates with histories of harming vulnerable individuals should not be trusted with vulnerable puppies.

Maxwell’s transition to FCP Bryan was noted as a significant change from her previous environment. Some have described her new situation as somewhat akin to “door-style housing” rather than traditional cell confinement. It’s a stark contrast, to say the least.

Furthermore, the Florida Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche previously expressed concerns about Maxwell’s connections to disreputable financial figures and her part in procuring minors, which certainly adds another layer to her current circumstances.

In the midst of these developments, there have been discussions surrounding alleged preferential treatment for Maxwell. However, officials from the Trump administration have denied such claims, stating that any assertions of special treatment are unfounded. They emphasize that safety concerns are routinely prioritized in prison operations.
